SANTIAGO

Located in a valley between the Andes
and the Coastal Range, Santiago de Chile
has a total population of 7 million inhabitants
and is one of the major capital cities in South
America. Getting acquainted with Santiago is no
trouble, since it is nowhere near the rather chaotic
image one tends to have of Latin American urban areas.
The visitor will delight in a tour of the historical area of the
city and Bellavista neighborhood, in the view from Mount San
Cristóbal and its surrounding vineyards and in Maipo Canyon.
Santiago is also a point of departure to visit the cities of Valparaíso and Viña del Mar.
