It is undoubtedly one the most beautiful parks
throughout South America. Located 2,000 meters
above the Patagonian steppe, the Torres (literally,
“towers”) offer a uniquely beautiful sheer vertical
view of their granite structure. The park was created
in 1959 and was formerly a sheep raising “estancia”.
In 1978, it became a part of UNESCO’s Biosphere
Reserve. It features countless different species of Andean
wildlife such as “ñandús” (a type of ostrich), guanacos and
condors. Ranging from green or rocky valleys to glaciers plunging
into crystal clear lakes, the park and its exceptionally beautiful variety
of landscapes unfold over 181,000 hectares. Whatever the hiker’s level,
he will naturally be satisfied by this incomparable area. For those who seek to experience the immensity of this region, we can organize excursions lasting a day or more and combining outings on a catamaran, horse riding and treks along ancient lakes.
