Day 1: Santiago de Chile

Arrival in Santiago and private transfer to your hotel.


An English-speaking guide will accompany you during the transfer.
Visit of Chile's capital, nestled at the foot of the Andes. Although Santiago has become over the years a modern and bustling city, some older neighbourhoods have preserved their atmosphere and a romantic charm.
You will visit the Plaza de Armas, San Francisco Church, the Bellavista area, Cerro San Cristobal, etc.

Day 2: Santiago de Chile - Arica

Private transfer from your hotel to Santiago airport.


Domestic flight from Santiago to Arica (time to be confirmed, flight indicated in option).

In the afternoon, you will start the visit of the city with San Marco Cathedral, and the ex-customs House, today Cultural Centre, designed in Gustave Eiffel's architecture workshop. Then, you will head to the "Morro", where one of the major battle of the Pacific War (1879 - 1884) took place, and the beaches. On that day, you will discover the cool South Pacific atmosphere of this pleasant city known as the “city of the eternal spring”.

Day 3: Arica - Putre


4-day expedition in a private vehicle with an English-speaking driver.
Meet your driver/guide at Chacalluta Intertational Airport, located in the desert 15 km north of Arica, near the Peruvian border, or at your hotel in Arica. Immediate departure to begin an incredible climb to 3,500 m of altitude. In a little more than 150 km, you will reach the pleasant village of Putre (about 5 hours drive with stops). You will see, among other things, geoglyphs and petroglyphs, the terraced fields of Socorama, candelabra cactus on the edge of the canyon and beautiful views of the Nevados de Putre (5,824 m alt.).
Night in the village of Putre. Excellent base to begin acclimatization.

Day 4: Putre - Lauca National Park - Putre


Option 1: Begin the day with the Chungará Lake, then go down to the Lagunas de Cotacotani (3-hour walk). The guide shows you the way and picks you up at the end of the hike. After that, go down to Parinacota and Putre.
Option 2: Begin the day with a 30-minute walk on Las Cuevas Trail and visit the village of Parinacota. After that, head to the Lagunas de Cotacotani (without doing the hike) and continue to the Chungará Lake. Drive back to Putre at the end of the day.

Day 5: Putre - Salar de Surire - Putre


Head south through Las Vicuñas National Reserve and follow the active Guallatiri Volcano (6,063 m alt. with fumaroles around the summit) before arriving at the Surire Salt Flat (4,245 m alt.) which takes its name from the presence of ostriches (“suri” in Aymara). Observation of different species of flamingos, as well as many llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas. Lunch break near the hot springs. Continue on a narrow track that descends south, driving through the peat bogs full of lamas and alpacas of Volcán Isluga National Park.
Return to Putre in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Putre - Arica


Leave the Cordillera for an incredible descent of 3,500 m to the ocean, in a little more than 150 km (about 6-hour drive, with stops). You'll enjoy beautiful views of the Nevados de Putre (5,824 m alt.), candelabra cactus on the edges of the canyon, the terraced fields of Socorama, the Pukará of Copaquilla, the San Geronimo Church of Poconchile as well as petroglyphs and geoglyphs.
Arrival in Arica and return to the civilization, after a few days away from the city, into the wild.

Day 7: Arica - Santiago de Chile


Private transfer to Arica airport.

Day 8: Santiago de Chile - Temuco - Lago Budi

Private transfer from your hotel to Santiago airport.


Domestic flight from Santiago to Temuco (time to be confirmed, flight indicated in option).

Departure for Lake Budi to reach the Mapuche camp of Lafkenche where you will spend the next two days.

Welcome to Paliwe Lewfu. During these two days you will discover the Mapuche culture close to the beautiful Lake Budi.
You will learn the secrets of natural medicine of Mapuche women, you will participate in various activities: making handicrafts, cooking, walks or boat rides.
Spend the night in a Ruka, a typical Mapuche house, an unforgettable experience.

Day 9: Lago Budi - Pucón


Suggested itinerary : Wake up by the lake. More activities are offered today, you can horse ride, taste the typical local products, enjoy a nice Mapuche meal. In the afternoon, you drive to Pucon and reach your hotel.

Day 10: Pucón - Curarrehue


Departure at 9am with your driver towards the Argentinean border. 3 Mapuche Communities live here : Quelhue, Palguin Bajo and Curarrehue. We will visit the Kila Leufu family who will welcome you in its big Ruka where Irma will tell her history, traditions and customs. You will take part in the daily Mapuche activities, from farming to cooking depending on you interests. Night in a traditional Ruka.

Day 11: Curarrehue - Pucón


Day with the Kila Leufu family. Transfer in the evening to Pucon.

Day 13: Santiago de Chile - Hanga Roa


Domestic flight from Santiago to Easter Island (time to be confirmed).

Afternoon at leisure. Walk around the village, rent a bicycle, go snorkelling or diving, explore the island horseback riding, or relax by the pool of your hotel!

Day 14: Hanga Roa - Ahu Akivi - Hanga Roa


Morning dedicated to the visit of the village of Hanga Roa, its museum and the Tahai complex, the archaeological site closest to the village, where Moai statues face away from the ocean.



In the afternoon, visit of Ahu Vinapu, the Puna Pau quarry and the site of the seven explorers Ahu Akivi, the only site of the island where the Moais are facing the sea.

Day 15: Hanga Roa - Anakena - Rano Raraku - Hanga Roa

Full day excursion to discover the Anakena beach, the sites of Nau Nau and Ature Huki. You will visit the arqueologic sites of Hare Moa, Manavai, Pipi Oreko, Papa Vaka, and the Ahu Te Pito Kura (Biggest Moai). You will arrive in the bay of Hanga Nui, where the impressive site of Tongariki is. End your day at to the volcan Rano Raraku, before driving back to the village.

Day 16: Hanga Roa - Rano Kau Volcano - Hanga Roa


In the morning, half-day excursion to the Rano Kau Volcano.


You will first discover the spectacular crater as well as panoramic views of the island.


You will then continue to the ceremonial site of Orongo, where the Birdman cult used to take place.


From there, you will catch sight of the 3 Motu islets that you can reach by boat. Finally, you will visit the cave Ana Kai Tangata.


There, you will have a spectacular view of the island and of the Pacific Ocean.


Return to Hanga Roa at the end of the morning.

Day 17: Hanga Roa - Santiago de Chile

Hotel O'tai was founded in 1968 by Nicholas Haoa and Rosita Cardinali. At first there were only 4 rooms but in 1986 was expanded and renamed the hotel O'tai. Today it has 40 rooms with a capacity for 80 people and is characterized by its friendly, family atmosphere. O'tai means "In the Coast" in Rapa Nui language. The hotel also have a privileged location surrounded by beautiful gardens, plagued by the indigenous flora of Rapa Nui, generating to the visitors a nice sense of tranquility and harmony.
