Day 1: Pucón - Villarrica volcano - Pucón
Meeting at 06:30. Departure at 07:00 from Pucón to go to the ski center at the base of the volcano at 1,400 m of altitude. At 09:00 you will start walking 4 to 5 hours to the summit of the volcano (2,847m). From there you will enjoy views of the eight surrounding volcanoes: Quetrupillán, Lanín, Llaima, Lonquimay, Sierra Nevada, Chohuenco, Osorno, Tolhuaca as well as three small volcanoes around Lake Caburgua. You can also observe the many lakes of the region: Caburgua, Calafquén, Huilipilun, Neltume, Panguipulli and Villarrica. At 15:00 you will start the descent to the base through the ice slides. Back to Pucón by car.

Day 2: Huerquehue National Park - Pucón
At 08.00 departure from the hotel to Lake Caburgua before heading to Huerquehue National Park. Begin your trek to the lagoons located 768m above sea level. The first waterfall you will come across is called the "Eagle's Nest", you can walk down 400m to see it from below. You will then hike up to 1300m to lake Chico, go round the lake to Laguna Los Patos, then Laguna Huerquehue and finally Laguna el Toro, before heading back to the entrance of the park where you started. A lovely day among the Araucanias, endemic tree of this area.
Drive back to Pucon.

Day 3: Pucón - Chinay - Laguna Azul
Departure from Pucón towards the Chinay CONAF center (40-minute drive on a track), on the way connecting Pucón to Coñaripe. You will cross the Chinay River, the Villarrica is behing you as you head to the slopes of the Quetrupillán Volcano. You will start with a 700m climb to warm up. 15 minutes later, you will come across the first araucarias. After that, the landscapes are becoming more arid, and strong winds might make it hard to walk, especially if the "Puelche", a wind coming from Argentina, is blowing. The trail keeps going up to Cerro Los Pinos, then to the Range Mocho. The trail is very rolling but the views are incredible. After leaving the forest, start a light climb on the slopes of the Quetrupillán Volcano. The main trail heads south and starts rising again. If the weather is clear, you might catch sight of the road winding through the mountains and the pass that you have to reach. Soon, you will reach the highest point of the hike (1,920 m). Now, you will start a long descent to reach the objective of the day, the Laguna Azul. After another hour of walking, you will reach its shores. You can set up your tent in the forest close by.

Day 4: Laguna Azul - Laguna Avurtadas
This second day of trek will be amazing. Leave Laguna Azul to cross a lava field. You can see the slopes and the crater of the Quetrupillán Volcano. The ground is entirely covered with the sediments of the previous eruptions. You will climb up to the edge of the crater and continue walking on the slopes of the surrounding mountains. From up there, you can see the Liquine valley, covered with dense forests, and the Mocho-Choshuenco Volcano in the background. Then, the trail turns east and you will enter Argentina for about 2 km. At this point, a fantastic landscape opens up. Keep walking through this amazing environment while enjoying the view on the surrounding wonders. You will enter the forest and the hike becomes easier. You will soon reach Laguna Avutarda where you can set up your tent.

Day 5: Pucón - Laguna Avurtadas - El Puesco - Menetue Therms - Pucón
Night at the Nau Aldea Kana ***
For this last day, leave Laguna Avutarda. The forest is dominated by lengas, coiques, canelillos and quiles. Soon, the forest gives way to plains. In this area, you might hear or see woodpeckers. After a short climb, you will reach a clearing on the slopes of a hill from where you can see the bottom of the Puesco Valley, the final destination of this trek. The descent is quick and steep. You will reach the international road. End of the trek.
On the way to Pucón, you can stop at the Menetue hot springs to relax.
