Day 1: Santiago de Chile

Arrival in Santiago and private transfer to your hotel.


An English-speaking guide will accompany you during the transfer.
Visit of Chile's capital, nestled at the foot of the Andes. Although Santiago has become over the years a modern and bustling city, some older neighbourhoods have preserved their atmosphere and a romantic charm.
You will visit the Plaza de Armas, San Francisco Church, the Bellavista area, Cerro San Cristobal, etc.

Day 2: Santiago de Chile - Punta Arenas - Puerto Natales - Estancia Laguna Sofia

Private transfer from your hotel to Santiago airport.


Domestic flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas (time to be confirmed, flight indicated in option).

Private transfer from Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales, city close to the canal Señoret and Torres del Paine National Park, one of the most spectacular in South America.

Pick up in Puerto Natales, and then drive for 30 km. You will arrive at Estancia Laguna Sofia, where you will spend your first night in full board. You will go on a 2-hour ride in order to try your horses and equipment, and be ready for tomorrow.

Day 3: Estancia Laguna Sofia - Torres del Paine park entrance


After breakfast, you will prepare the horses. You will ride towards the area Vega Señoret, where the cattle grazes in the summer. You will spend 6h on horseback. You will get to know the Gaucho's work and traditions.
Overnight in a tent.

Day 4: Torres del Paine park entrance


Early in the morning, you will prepare your horses and herd the cattle. You will take part in the Gaucho's activities and also ride towards the Mirador Torres del Paine, where you will have lunch. Dinner is served at the camp.

Day 5: Cerro Campana


After breakfast, you will prepare your horses to ride to Cerro Campana. The ride will take 5h, from the top of the Campana, you will have stunning views and you will be able to see many condors. You will arrive at the Estancia Cerro Campana, where you will spend the night in a comfortable wooden hut.

Day 6: Cerro Campana - Torres refuges


After breakfast, you will ride to Laguna Figueroa, crossing the lands of the Estancia.
After a 4h ride, you will reach the road from where a car will take you to Torres del Paine National Park, where you will spend the night in the Refugio Torre Central.
Overnight in a refuge, do not forget a sleeping bag.
Note: some activities change according to the season (you will ride from Sofía to Vega in December and from Vega to Sofía in April. You will cross the swamp in December).

Day 7: Torres refuges - Mirador Las Torres - Torres refuges


Today you will climb to the base of the Towers, the nicest point of the W circuit. From Las Torres area you will continue to El Chileno Refugio from where you can reach the base of the towers by going on a 2h hike. It's a climb on a very steep moraine, with rocks becoming larger and larger, to finally reach the most important spot: the Torres del Paine. It takes you another 2 hours to go back down on the same track.

Distance: 18km. Walking Time: 7h. Slope: + 990m / - 990m.

Day 8: Puerto Pudeto - Lodge Paine Grande - Britannic camp - Lodge Paine Grande

Embark on a catamaran to cross Lake Pehoe. (35min)


Carefull: navigation to pay at the moment of the embark (reservation imposible).

Heading east this morning, you climb a short and easy slope, bordering Lake Skottsberg, named after the explorer who travelled the area in 1908. Then, you reach the Río Francés, which marks the beginning of the French Valley. You arrive at Camp Italiano after 2 hours walk. After taking time to rest and have lunch, you continue to go up north to the British Camp. It takes 3 hours from the Italian camp to the British camp. Back at the Italian Camp, you continue east, bordering Lake Nordenskjöld this time, facing the Cuernos del Paine, all the way to the Lodge Paine Grande where you will enjoy a well-deserved rest.
Distance: 25 km. Walking Time: 9h. Slope: + 650m / - 650m.
Night at the Lodge Paine Grande Refuge.

Day 9: Britannic camp - Lodge Paine Grande - Grey refuge - Hosteria Lago Grey - Lake Grey - Hosteria Lago Grey - Puerto Natales


Today you will be able to relax a little. You will walk 3/4 hours to get to the Grey Glacier. The trail offers panoramic views over the Grey Glacier and icebergs floating. The second part of the path will take you closer to the glacier. Once in the area of refuge Grey, you can walk 10 minutes to the Mirador and have a stunning view on the ice field. The terrible fire that destroyed in 2011 over 17,000 hectares in this area left some traces. You may realise how fragile this environment is.
Distance: 11km. Walking Time: 4h. Slope: + 365m / - 395m.
At 12:00 you board a comfortable boat (capacity 50 passengers) to cross the Lake Grey and see the very impressive Grey Glacier. It is part of the southern ice field, third ice sheet in the world after Antarctica and Greenland. Return to the Lago Grey Hotel.

Day 16: El Calafate - Puerto Natales

You leave from the bus terminal in El Calafate at 8:30 a.m. to Puerto Natales (Chile). This township is located 360 km South of El Calafate and 260 km North of Punta Arenas. During the trip, you admire the typical Chilean Patagonian landscape. As we reach Puerto Natales, you enjoy the view onto the many snow-capped mountain tops and glaciers belonging to the Andes Mountain Chain. Arrival is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Puerto Natales is a small town located at sea-level on the shores of the Senoret Channel.
Note: a 362 km. 5 hours (subject to the border crossing). Leaving everyday since September 1st

LODGE PAINE GRANDE: The Paine Grande Area is located at the heart of Torres del Paine National Park and is considered as the base camp. The Lodge can hold 100 people in 22 bedrooms with 3 and 2 bunks each. These rooms have a lovely view to Pehoé lake, the heights of Paine Grande, Valle del Francés and the east face of Cuernos del Paine. Each one of them has comfortable bunks and drawers to put away gear. However, they have a custody service and a safety box to keep valuable belongings. The toilets are on the first and second floor and have wash basins, toilets and hot water showers, separated for men and women. We like: the view to the Paine and its different components.
SHELTER GREY: Located at the entrance of Torres del Paine National Park (Lago Grey side), the Grey Shelter welcomes you for your first or last night in the park, ready to help you charge your batteries. The common area is its biggest asset. big windows and fireplace, comfortable couches. it mixes up perfectly modernity and rusticity. The dorms and bathrooms are to share.
SHELTER DICKSON: The Shelter Dickson offers 27 beds in comfortable bedrooms on the first and second floor. The bathrooms are on the first floor, they are shared but separated for men and women and have toilets, wash basins and hot water showers.The Shelter has a restaurant service for basic meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). It is also possible to ask for box lunches for those who are planning on trekking during the day or just enjoy a nice cup of hot coffee, beverages as well as tasty sandwichs.
