The booking confirmation of the services provided by Terra Patagonia Chile, which is sent by email, implies the acceptance of the sales conditions explained below by all the participants to the trip.
Registration
Each registration must be accompanied by the payment of a deposit representing 30% of the total cost of the services. Receipt of this deposit only indicates acceptance of the reservation in cases where places are available. Once the deposit is accepted, the outstanding balance will have to be paid 45 days before the services begin (60 days for cruises).
Cancellation
If the client has to cancel his trip, the amount paid will be reimbursed subject to the following terms:
If the cancellation occurs:
- More than 2 months before the beginning of the trip: The amount paid will be partially reimbursed with; holding of the possibly already paid and non refundable amounts (hotels, flights) and agency fees.
- Less than 2 months before the beginning of the trip: the amount paid won’t be reimbursed.
The possibly paid amounts, except deposit, flights and cruises*, will be:
- Reimbursed in full if the cancellation occurs more than 30 days before the effective beginning of the services,
- Reimbursed at a 50% if the cancellation occurs between 30 and 15 days before the effective beginning of the services,
- Withheld in full if the cancellation occurs less 15 days before the effective beginning of the services.
*The cancellation conditions of the cruise company will apply (conditions available on request).
Claims
Any claim concerning a tour (disagreement, non-fulfilment of a part of the tour, etc.) will have to be drawn up to Terra Patagonia Chile. A possible point at issue will come to an amicable agreement. In case of total disagreement, we will refer to the Chilean Court as Terra Patagonia Chile is a Chilean company.
Insurance
By accepting to travel with Terra Patagonia Chile, you must personnaly take out an insurance which gives you assistance for repatriation. Most of credit cards allow you to receive one or two insurance(s) : a travel insurance and an assistance agreement for repatriation. In the case whereby you have paid for your flight ticket with your credit card (Visa or American Express), or you have paid the deposit via our online payment system, you are essentially insured at that time - you can make inquiries about this subject with your bank.
Terra Patagonia Chile will require that you sign a discharge of responsibility at your arrival in Chile.
Responsibility
Passports, vaccinations: Terra Patagonia Chile will not take on the individual responsibility of each participant. Participants should adhere to police and customs rules and formalities, and health requirements at the moment of travel. Each participant should also take it upon themselves to obtain all the documents required by the authorities of the country visited. Terra Patagonia Chile holds no responsibility in the case of delay or in the situation whereby one of the participants is unable to present their documents in order. The expenses incurred are at the cost of the client. No reimbursement, for whatever reason, will be given for any tour which is interrupted or cut short on account of a participant.
Risks
Taking into account the nature of our organized trips, each participant should be aware that they could face certain risks, particularly owing to the remoteness from medical centres, the state of the roads, and the adventurous nature of some of the tours (principally the high mountain tracks, the hikes and the off-road vehicle expeditions). It is assumed that each participant, with full knowledge of the facts, commits him or herself to not bringing responsibility to Terra Patagonia Chile, to the guides or to different providers of the services, for causing possible, unexpected accidents.
If certain circumstances arise, in particular where the safety of the whole group is at risk, but also for climatic reasons or incidents, Terra Patagonia Chile reserves the direct or indirect right (through an intermediary of one of its guides), to substitute one means of transport, accommodation, or itinerary for another, as well as the dates or the times of departure. In these circumstances the participants do not have the right to claim for compensation.
Each participant must comply with the precautionary rules and must follow the instructions given by the Terra Patagonia Chile guide.
Terra Patagonia Chile cannot be held responsible for accidents which are caused by individual carelessness of a member of the group. Terra Patagonia Chile reserves the right, at any moment, to remove from a group, a person whose behaviour could be considered as jeopardizing the security or the well-being of the participants. No compensation will be given.
Hospitality industry
The Chilean hotel infrastructure is still far from the one we can find in developed countries. However we work with hotels we know and trust. Terra Patagonia Chile cannot be held responsible for problems arising in an hotel (thefts for example).
Luggage
Your luggage will be your own responsibility throughout the trip Do not entrust your guide with the care of your luggage. It is not materially possible for us to guarantee this care.
Air transport
If your trip is changed because of air traffic or climatic disruptions, we cannot be held responsible. The resulting costs are at your expense.
Unforeseen events
If exterior events disrupt the normal functioning of the country (for example: social and political problems, natural catastrophes, etc.), Terra Patagonia Chile reserves the right to cancel the trip or to modify its content. In the case of cancellation, the part of the deposit corresponding to pre-payment for services already reserved, will be withheld. In case of route alterations, a new estimate will be established.

In case of major problem during your stay (delay, strike or traffic accident), an “emergency” cellular number is at your disposal to join a member of our team:00 56 9 656 945 90 (from a cellular) or 09 656 945 90 (from a landline phone in Chile).
Important
- As a security measure, we ask each traveler to bring photocopies of passport and individual insurance (mandatory, to hand over to us upon arrival).
- Terra Patagonia Chile reserves the right to modify the programme owing to climatic or social disturbances in the country or if one of the participants experiences health problems during the trip.
