Day 1: Santiago de Chile
Arrival in Santiago and private transfer to your hotel.
Visit of Chile's capital, nestled at the foot of the Andes. Although Santiago has become over the years a modern and bustling city, some older neighbourhoods have preserved their atmosphere and a romantic charm.
You will visit the Plaza de Armas, San Francisco Church, the Bellavista area, Cerro San Cristobal, etc.

Day 2: Santiago de Chile - Temuco - Temuco Airport - Pucón

Suggested Itinerary:
Welcome at Temuco Airport and drive to Lake Villarica (1h30). You are now in the Lake District. On the way, you see the Llaima Volcano and are now facing the Villarrica Volcano, a perfect cone. Arrival in Pucon. Check in to your hotel and end of the day by the lake at leisure.

Day 3: Huerquehue National Park - Pucón
At 08.00 departure from the hotel to Lake Caburgua before heading to Huerquehue National Park. Begin your trek to the lagoons located 768m above sea level. The first waterfall you will come across is called the "Eagle's Nest", you can walk down 400m to see it from below. You will then hike up to 1300m to lake Chico, go round the lake to Laguna Los Patos, then Laguna Huerquehue and finally Laguna el Toro, before heading back to the entrance of the park where you started. A lovely day among the Araucanias, endemic tree of this area.
Drive back to Pucon.

Day 4: Pucón - Curarrehue - Pucón
Suggested itinerary: Departure at 09.00 with your driver towards the Argentinean border. 3 Mapuche Communities live here : Quelhue, Palguin Bajo and Curarrehue. You will visit the Kila Leufu family who will welcome you in its big Ruka where Irma will tell you about her history, traditions and customs. You will take part in the daily Mapuche activities, from farming to cooking, depending on you interests.

Day 5: Pucón - Huilo Huilo
Suggested itinerary:
You leave the shores of Lake Villarrica in the early morning to go further south. The road "Interlagos" was buily specifically to enjoy the beauty of each of these lakes and to get off the Pan-American Highway. You can take lots of breaks, to take pictures and enjoy the fresh water of the lakes or the warm waters of the hot springs, typical in this volcanic region. A two-hour drive will take you along the lakes Calafquén and Panguipulli. You will have views of the Villarrica Volcano, from different angles, at almost all times. You will arrive on the outskirts of the Huilo Huilo Reserve with the Choshuenco Volcano in front of you. Check in to your hotel whose architecture surprisingly integrates perfectly with the environment. The magic of this reserve will enchant you. Relax at the hotel spa complex.

Day 6: Huilo Huilo - Puerto Varas
Suggested itinerary:
Today you will go around Lake Ranco and down south to the lakes Puyehue and Rupanco where you will take a short break. Finally, you will reach the Lake Llanquihue, the third largest natural lake in South America where you will also have a wonderful view of the Osorno Volcano. Descent and end your day at Puerto Varas, a tourist town by Lake Llanquihue.

Day 7: Puerto Varas - Castro - Cucao
Departure at 9:00 to reach Puerto Montt. From Puerto Montt, capital of the Lake District, you will take the Panamericana 5 to the port of Pargua from where you will take a ferry to Chiloe Island. The crossing takes 30 minutes and you will disembark in the villages of Chacao or Ancud. You will visit the Puñihuil Penguins Reserve before descending further south to the capital of the island, Castro. Visit of the Cathedral of Castro, built in 1910, declared Cultural Heritage and made entirely of wood shingles.

Day 8: Castro
Suggested itinerary: Excursion in the Chiloé National Park. Possibility of multiple walks from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Back on the east coast to the small fishing village of Dalcahue, visit of the craft shops. The restaurants serve Curanto, the typical dish of the island made with meat, potatoes, corn cakes and seafood.
Navigation in the afternoon to reach a small island in front of Dalcahue (Achaco or Quinchao) to explore the fishing villages. Visit of the churches that were declared in 2000, world Heritage by UNESCO.
Back to Castro.

Day 9: Castro - Puerto Varas
Suggested itinerary: Departure from Castro at 9:00am. The peculiarity of this town lies in its houses on stilts, handy indeed for those by the water, but also for those standing further away because it rains a lot here. The Churches of Chiloé are classified World Heritage by UNESCO, you will visit some of them on the way. You will also pass through fishing villages. Fishing and agriculture are the main resources of the island. Take a nice walk at the pace of this quiet island.
Go back to the continent by the same ferry that brought you there. Arrival at Puerto Varas in the late afternoon.

Domestic flight from Puerto Montt to Coyhaique (time to be confirmed, flight indicated in option).
Suggested itinerary : Arrival in Balmaceda where you pick up your rental car at the airport. Your are now on the Austral Road. Many parks, fjords and mountains welcome you. Take the road south to cross the national reserve Cerro Castillo. You will then reach the Green and Cofré Lagunas and finally the lake General Carrera. One of the biggest in South America.

Day 11: Puerto Tranquilo
Suggested itinerary : This morning you leave towards Bahía Exploradores. You can stop at the guard's hut, and walk 45min to get to a mirador which offers an exceptional view on the Mount San Valentin, highest mountain in Patagonia (4.058m). Drive back to Puerto Tranquillo around lunchtime. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit the chapels of marble on a boat or a kayak-trip. A day to contemplate and enjoy the unspoiled nature.

Day 12: Puerto Tranquilo - Puerto Bertrand
Suggested itinerary: Before going south, you have the possibility to visit the Marble Chapels (Capillas de Marmól), blocs of marble hanging from the cliff. This visit is by boat (not included). Then, drive to Puerto Bertrand. Arrival for lunch at Puerto Bertrand, small isolated village next to Lake Bertrand. In the afternoon you can decide between rafting and fly fishing, as this area is very famous for this sport, especially in the Baker River nearby. You can also continue south, where the rivers and the snow-capped mountains will take your breath away.

Day 13: Puerto Bertrand - Chile Chico
This morning, leave Puerto Bertrand. You can take your time to walk along the Lake General Carrera. The road is so beautiful that stops are frequent. The scenery starts to change: you leave behind the lush vegetation to enter drier landscapes and sheer cliffs.
You can also visit the Cueva de las Manos or go hiking around Chile Chico.

Day 14: Chile Chico - Coyhaique - Santiago de Chile
Suggested itinerary: Departure from Chile Chico, sitting on the Argentinian border, to cross the beautiful lake on a ferry (2h). Pick up of your vehicle and drive to Balmaceda where you will leave your vehicle and take your flight. Everyday, the ferry leaves at 08.00 except on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays when it leaves at 16.00.
