Suggested itinerary: Drive south to reach Pomaire, village of potters, then continue to Isla Negra, a charming bay where you visit one of Pablo Neruda’s houses. In the afternoon you will arrive in Viña del Mar, the largest beach resort in the country, and finally Valparaiso, the neighboring town where you will spend the night. Leave your car and visit Valparaiso by foot. You can also visit Casa Marin on the way, a well-known vineyard.

Day at leisure in Valparaiso. Visit the different neighborhoods, the Alegre and Concepción hills, registered as world heritage by UNESCO. Take one of the 100-year-old lifts to help you get up the hills, and enjoy the bohemian peacefull lifestyle of this coastal town.

Suggested Itinerary : Drive through north and you will discover different sceneries. First, the most beautiful sites of the pacific coast : Reñaca, Concón, Horcón, Zapallar and Papudo. You will then go up to the 40 road and cross a desert region. Then, you will drive close to the Fray Jorge national park and stop at Tongoy, one of the most beautiful beach of Chile. Enjoy some seafood for lunch. Arrival at the end of the day at Coquimbo, a port city of La Serena. Walk up at the cruce to have a panoramic view of the bay.

Day at leisure to relax by the beach and discover the region. Visit of this charming colonial city: the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the crafts market of Le Recova, the archaeological museum, the Francisco de Aguirre Avenue with its marble statues, the lighthouse (the city icon), the Avenida del Mar.

Today, you can visit Damas Island and the Pingüino de Humboldt National Reserve. At the end of the excursion, continue to Bahia Inglesa, a small village of 135 inhabitants renowned for its white sands and warm waters.

Suggestion of itinerary: On your way back to La Serena, drive through the Elqui Valley, towards El Pangue Observatory. French astronomers will tell you about astronomy, then you will observe the sky (constellations, nebulas, planets, stars etc.) through different telescopes whose diameters vary from 16 to 25 cm. Then, drive to Vicuña and its arts and crafts (our favourite: the shop Cuadros Rupestres).

At night, you will leave with an astronomer for El Pangue observatory, for a sky discovery session. After two hours of observation, return to the village.

In the morning, visit of the city of Vicuña. After lunch, head towards Pisco Elqui. On the way, you can stop at numerous viewpoints of the pisco plantings and different valleys. Arrival in Pisco Elqui, the perfect spot to enjoy your holiday and relax in the sun. Here, the sky is blue almost all year long, which makes it a key place of astronomy. At night, you will get to observe the stars with a specialist.

Visit of the villaga, located 1,280 m above sea level. Its a typical village with a beautiful square, winding steep streets and craft workshops. Head to the Pisco factory Los Nichos, at the exit of the city, on the way to Horcón. Visit of this human-size company which produces Chile's best traditional Pisco. Continue to the village of Horcón. We suggest you have lunch at the restaurant El Cielo in Alcohuaz. Then return to Pisco Elqui to relax by the pool of your hotel.

Departure in the morning from Pisco Elqui. Drive through the valley and, instead of going back to La Serena, continue towards the east and the Andes. Get ready for a long climb.
